Pan type distributor, called also orifice type distributor, is the most conventional type of distributor, it provides liquid holdup in the distributor which can operate for very low liquid flow. Vapour passes through circular or rectangular gas risers. Distributor can be used even from as low as 100mm & above upto 800 mm column diameter with pan.
PTFE Distributor
Pan type distributor can made by PTFE material as well. PTFE are ideal for chemical engineering and applications that requires excellent corrosion resistance and low friction coefficient. This material resists to almost all corrosive chemicals, including organic solvents, acid and base. PTFE is also one of the most thermally stable plastic materials and there is no appreciable decomposition at 260°C.
Key Characteristics
For fouling application pan type distributor can be used with V-Notch Tubes. It can be successfully applied for random Packing.
Liquid loads can be possible even from 1 m3/m2.hr to 80 m3/m2.hr. It can be used for both structured & random packing.
Liquid loads may vary from 2m3/m2hr to 50 m3/m2hr. Less sensitive to fouling and ganging of liquid flow.
Applications
It is widely used in packed extraction column, absorption column and cooling column, and it is an ideal choice for separation, mixture or handling of vapor-liquid load, suspensions, emulsions, fouling or contaminated liquids. It is also used in frequently pressure and pressure vacuum operations of distillation, absorption, extraction and other processes.
