Introduction
The ring was created by British scientist Dr. Dixon in 1947, so its pronunciation is Dixson ring. Dixon ring also call Theta ring. Theta ring packing is a small particle high efficiency packing, made of wire mesh, packing diameter and height are same. θ ring filler is mainly used in laboratory, small batch, high purity product separation process and isotope development. The pressure drop of θ ring packing is related to gas velocity, liquid spray quantity, weight of material system, surface tension, viscosity, characteristic factors of packing, and also has a bearing on the pre-liquid flooding treatment of packing.
Dixon ring is used mainly for laboratory and low-volume, high-purity product separation process.
θ ring packing's pressure drop is related to gas velocity, liquid spray volume, and material weight, surface tension, viscosity and characteristics of fill factors and pre-fill liquid. Θ ring hysteresis loop filler material than similar entities fill large, θ ring surface wetting situation completely than ordinary ceramic ring, film-forming rate, and thus more efficient. θ ring packing with the theoretical plate number of the increase in gas velocity increased, with the filler surface wettability and reduce the rate of decline.
