On vertical sieve trays, a number of large holes (100~200mm in diameter) arranged according to a certain arrangement are arranged on the tray, and a blister with a number of screen holes on the side wall is arranged on the hole, and a gap is left at the bottom edge of the blister for liquid to enter the cover.
Compared with the ordinary sieve tray, the vertical sieve tray provides a large and constantly updated interphase contact surface for the gas-liquid two phases, which strengthens the mass transfer process. The initial velocity of liquid droplets in the vertical direction is zero, which reduces the amount of liquid entrainment. Therefore, the vertical sieve tray can obtain higher plate efficiency and larger production capacity.
